Why I'm standing

I am committed to Westport and the Buller, having lived here for about 25 years. I have had significant experience in governance and believe this experience makes me prepared for the complexity of the role. I believe the ratepayers deserve a council that works hard to ensure that all spending is necessary, monitored and will enhance our community. I want to ensure that we remain a great place to live and work.

About me

I am currently a school principal, a role I have held for 15 years, during which I have had significant leadership and governance experience. I have a strong understanding of both property and finance, both areas that carry significant importance for a council. I also served as a councillor a few years earlier, and this experience has been helpful this term.

My priorities
  1. Ensure that the Long Term Plan is delivered effectively and in line with community expectations.
  2. Ensure that all council spending is within budget, well managed and with proper controls in place.
  3. Support the development of the new CCO to deliver the Three Waters across the coast.
