The Cambridge Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Waipa District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of seven members: five members elected by voters, including Four members from your area, and two members from the Waipa District council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I realised that the Community Board had a significant role in taking the views of the Cambridge community and making the council aware of those concerns regarding Cambridge Connections. As I wanted to be part of the solution and not just from the outside, I opted to make myself available for the Community Board.
