Mayor of Christchurch

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Christchurch City Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

Retired businessman, former passenger jet pilot, stood for local and central Government campaigning on Government using debt free money for funding housing and infrastructure, with more accountability for better performance.

About me

Retired businessman and former international passenger jet pilot, stood for local and central Government campaigning on Government using debt free money for funding housing and infrastructure, with more accountability for better performance. Changing GST to financial transaction tax with Government debt free money by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand will lower our living costs. As a mayor in Auckland and/or Christchurch, I will be more effective in achieving a Government policy change that puts more money in everyone's pockets.

My priorities
  1. Be a stronger voice for the community to get additional Government funding for community needs.
  2. Address the cost of living crisis with financial help from the Government instead of making people poorer.
  3. Increase transparency, greater accountability and make more information publicly available now.
