Environment Southland

Invercargill-Rakiura Constituency
Environment Southland is the regional council for Southland. It makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of 12 councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). six councillors will be elected from the Invercargill-Rakiura  constituency. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. About me

With years of experience in various industries and a decade mentoring students at the Southern Institute of Technology, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a can-do attitude to tackle challenges. It's time to give back to our community. I'm a listener, a collaborator and a problem-solver who will work with urban, rural and iwi communities to deliver practical, evidence-based solutions.

My priorities
  1. Commit to improving freshwater quality in rivers, streams and estuaries.
  2. Advocate for continued collaboration on flood protection policies.
  3. Reduce emissions.
