Geraldine Community Board

The Geraldine Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Timaru District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Geraldine Community Board election.

  • Advance better management of the upper Orari Bridge through traffic signals and continue advocacy for two-laning.

    Continue strong support for the community bus and Total Mobility.

    Keep working on cycle, walking and bridle trails for recreation and commuting.

  • Push for a two-lane bridge at Orari.

    Work to improve footpaths, establish footpaths on both sides of the street, add non-slip protection to tiled areas and repair tree root damage.

    Work to see trucks bypass the town to improve safety and reduce disturbance as they are not stopping to spend money due to lack of parking.
