Golden Bay Community Board

The Golden Bay Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Tasman District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of four members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Golden Bay Community Board election.

  • Allow public facilities to stay open for all people, even during a mandate (a mandate is not law).

    Support local funding of community artistic endeavours.

    Return and encourage art programmes to schools.

  • Continue funding the library and recreation centre, support halls to be used often and upgrade facilities when affordable.

    Create an art strategy as soon as possible as the arts are very strong in Golden Bay and Motueka and create a stronger relationship with the arts.

    Support more festivals and art events, create more public art and encourage more creativity around seating and infrastructure.
