Why I'm standing

I believe in the regional role GWRC plays in transport, water, environmental resilience and regional planning, issues that shape our future. I believe these decisions need thoughtful, region-wide leadership, not parochial thinking. I know that over the next decade GWRC will face major choices around infrastructure, climate and environmental management. With my background, I know I can contribute meaningfully and help drive smart, sustainable solutions. I am standing because this work matters and I want to be part of it.

About me

I have lived in Porirua for 30 years and bring leadership, governance and management experience across the public sector and business. I have led transformative work in transport, policing and infrastructure, and understand how smart, future-focused decisions have lasting value. I know how to navigate complex bureaucracy. I am president of Mana Arts and a founding member of Transparency International NZ. I have a postgraduate degree in public policy. I am committed to making a meaningful difference to this region.

My priorities
  1. Protect coasts, harbours and waterways with robust environmental standards, monitoring and enforcement.
  2. Advocate for reliable transport networks that work for both people and business.
  3. Be a strong voice with central government for the economic and environmental health of the region.
