Why I'm standing

I care greatly about the future of our region and GWRC has an important role in contributing to a thriving community that values sustainable environmental outcomes. I don't think ratepayers are getting value for money. Rates are forecast to increase 180 percent over the 10 years period to 2029, almost five times the rate of inflation and we are not investing sufficiently in infrastructure and environmental protection and remediation.

About me

I care greatly about the future of our region and the important role GWRC has in contributing to a thriving community that values sustainable environmental outcomes. I will bring to GWRC the experience of having a career in senior leadership and governance roles mostly in large corporates. My most recent role was as chief executive of the NZ Wind Energy Association. I am passionate about environmental protection and I am strongly values driven.

My priorities
  1. Provide high quality cost-effective core services and reprioritise funding.
  2. Ensure our environment is protected for future generations.
  3. Work collaboratively with regional stakeholders to improve delivery.
