Why I'm standing

There are a few local projects and opportunities that are not proceeding as fast as are needed and some impetus is required. These are mainly around care for both the marine and urban environment and I am concerned that if the present rate of degradation continues it will become too late and too expensive to act usefully. I can use my experience to advocate for more effort and investment to address these matters.

About me

My career as a professional land surveyor practising mainly in the land development area has provided me with an appreciation and understanding of how interrelated and important good custodianship of our country is and that the quality of our lives is dependent on how we care for our land and marine areas. I want to emphasise the concept of care in every decision that is made within the Council.

My priorities
  1. Accelerate native planting in all areas under regional council ownership.
  2. Accelerate the reduction in sediment entering our harbours and cleanup of our major waterways.
  3. Modify regional spatial plans to promote housing intensification along main transport routes.
