Why I'm standing

I am a proud born and bred Hamilton citizen. I care deeply about this city and all who live here. Our city is deeply in debt and we need to make sound decisions to deliver what matters most with the money we have - ratepayers can't keep paying more. I want to be on the council working hard to ensure Hamilton excels for its people and the future.

About me

I have the experience, integrity and action focused skills to deliver real results for our families and communities. Over the last 30 years I have been a teacher and had a senior career in central government. I bring leadership, governance experience and a proven ability to get things done on time and within budget. I know how to ask tough questions, challenge poor decisions and get sensible outcomes. I respect people, their livelihoods and homes.

My priorities
  1. Keep finances and spending under control. Work out what can be afforded and focus on essentials first.
  2. Make decisions based on solid information. Ensure every decision is backed by evidence with options.
  3. Have trusted communication – keep residents informed and connected. Listen and develop partnerships.
