Why I'm standing

Kaipara is a unique and beautiful part of Aotearoa with its harbours and beaches on both coasts. However, I do not want a develop-at-all-costs mentality in the council. All development must be undertaken with environmental impacts front and centre of all decision making.

About me

I am a Chartered Accountant with over 35 years' experience and have lived here for the past 12 years. I have strong fiscal and management skills, and a law degree with knowledge in contract and employment law. I can bring all of this knowledge and expertise to council. I have a long history of involvement in not-for-profit community groups, and I was a founding treasurer and board member of Te Whai Community Trust in Mangawhai.

My priorities
  1. Establish kerbside organic collection to reduce landfill.
  2. Reinstitute a climate resilience programme to protect homes, farms and businesses.
  3. Favour Kaipara rejoining LGNZ as a small council that needs to be part of a bigger voice.
