Why I'm standing

As a long-time Waikanae resident, I bring an honest, hardworking commonsense approach to political decision making. The success or failure of councils is their ability to work together to achieve well-defined community oriented goals. I will continue representing all of Waikanae Ward's constituent parts with their challenges and opportunities. My focus is on finishing Waikanae's Library, and protecting Waikanae from inappropriate intensive development. My knowledge, experience and ability to get things done will benefit Waikanae.

About me

For me it is about providing a fairer, caring community. Councils can only provide some of that but our policies count. We introduced the Living Wage and many local businesses have as well. Our communities are diverse and their needs are different – it is important to know this as we create future communities for our children and grandchildren. Kapiti is a stunning set of villages and we need to sustain and encourage that diversity.

My priorities
  1. Reduce public debt as vital to the wellbeing of our future, ensuring affordability and resilience.
  2. Boost creative communities that define much of the energy and image of the Kapiti Coast villages.
  3. Ensure young people have safe, healthy communities to thrive in and care for, and respect seniors.
