The Malvern Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Selwyn District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: five members elected by voters, including Three members from your area, and one member from the Selwyn District council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Require council to work with local communities by vesting ownership of local halls and swimming pools into local community trusts.

  • Make available current asset management plans for existing facilities to help community groups understand what can and cannot be afforded.

    Publish post-completion data to ensure visibility of project or policy actual outcomes measured against planned outcomes in the business case.

  • Establish a fairer process to allocate rates back into rural Malvern communities to modernise amenities and facilities to improve wellbeing.

    Establish a recreational centre that communities can reach and utilise within 20km distance anywhere in Selwyn.
