Why I'm standing

Marlborough is a wonderful place to live. The MDC does a good job and I want to help maintain and improve its performance. I have a wide and varied experience in business governance and management and I believe I can provide a steady, commonsense, constructive voice at the council table. I am a good team player and being retired, have the time to devote to council business. I want to give back to the community.

About me

I am a retired anaesthetist and have a long history of running businesses. I am good at getting people on side and am a positive, constructive person at meetings. I am fair and strongly democratic. I have a history of getting things done. I like to gather as much information as possible before deciding. I am a good team player.

My priorities
  1. Eliminate wasteful expenditure and keep rates low by focusing on core business.
  2. Focus on basic service provision.
  3. Make it easier to run a business and build a home.
