New Plymouth District Council

North General Ward
The New Plymouth District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. one councillor will be elected from the North ward. The other councillors will be elected from other wards or by all voters in the district. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. I'm running because I want to be a strong local voice for the North Ward. I believe our communities from Waitara to Tongaporutu deserve fair investment, recognition and momentum on the projects that matter to us.

I bring proven governance experience, deep local connections and a track record of getting things done. As Deputy Chair of the Waitara Community Board, sports coach and finance professional, I understand how to listen, advocate and deliver results for our people.

My priorities
  1. Progress the Waitara walkway extension, connect communities and boost recreation and tourism.
  2. Strengthen North Ward infrastructure and services with fair investment in roads, drainage and facilities.
  3. Support youth, sport and community development as strong young people and clubs build resilient towns.
