Why I'm standing

I moved to Papakura 40 years ago to raise my family and am now living in Takaanini. My children attended Rosehill College and were involved in Club Athletics. I am the Vice President of the Papakura Athletic and Harrier Club, with 23 years of voluntary service to the club as a coach, and delegate to the regional athletics body. I will advocate for a fair share of regional funding for local projects.

About me

My experience in sports leadership means I know the importance of providing more local sports activities for youth, and improving and developing community facilities for all people of Papakura. My work with multicultural groups, and in small business across retail, transport and security, will contribute to building a thriving local economy. Studies in Te Reo Māori and environmental management has strengthened my desire to protect local parks, bush and waterways for future generations.

My priorities
  1. Build a more engaged board that listens and responds so community groups are not left behind.
  2. Finish Ōpaheke Park and upgrade play spaces to give families safe, quality recreational areas.
  3. Fix footpaths, clear drains and support weekly rubbish collections to create healthy neighbourhoods.
