Actively promote weaving history and cultural identity into hard infrastructure to make it more "Our Place", uniquely Kāpiti.
Play a key part in community collaboration by building a better understanding across all sectors that benefit the area.
Work closely with hapū, iwi, local residents and council to bring Paraparaumu's future needs and desires to the table.
Ensure all major board decisions are proactively communicated through diverse channels, including community hui, for genuine transparency.
Proactively use social media for real-time updates, community feedback and transparent dialogue on local board projects and decisions.
Strengthen partnership with local iwi and hapū by formally embedding mātauranga Māori and co-design into community projects.
Improve community engagement by consulting early, reporting back clearly and ensuring residents' voices shape decisions.
Increase transparency by making council spending, reports and decisions more open and accessible to the public.
Strengthen accountability by ensuring elected members challenge staff advice, push for savings and represent community priorities.
