Raglan Community Board

The Raglan Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Waikato District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members: six members elected by voters, and two members from the Waikato District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Raglan Community Board election.

Raglan Community Board

Why I'm standing

If re-elected to the Raglan Community Board I will continue working hard representing our community, speaking up for Whāingaroa Raglan residents and ratepayers at council. I have spent the past six plus years championing a transformation in how we treat and dispose of our wastewater. Together with hapū and community groups, Raglan Community Board has worked constructively alongside Watercare and Waikato District Council to help deliver the newly commissioned wastewater treatment plant upgrade.

About me

I believe that we need to question council decisions with critical thinking and present constructive representation of our community to council. I will champion comprehensive inclusion of the community so we can manage growth in a sustainable way that creates more diverse employment for Raglan. I have a proven record in practical problem solving. I am able to get around the table with all parties working towards solutions for the many unique challenges we face.

My priorities
  1. Protect the harbour by supporting development of a land-based disposal of our wastewater.
  2. Plan strategic growth by developing a spatial plan for Raglan and a second arterial route.
  3. Improve street safety by getting integrated CCTV cameras in the CBD.
