Raglan Community Board
The Raglan Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Waikato District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members: six members elected by voters, and two members from the Waikato District Council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
I have the time and energy to give back to the community I am proud to live in. My career in education has given me the skill sets and experience to be an excellent advocate for our community.
About me
My wife Marie and I have resided in Raglan for more than ten years. Semi-retired, I have governance and management experience on boards and committees. We run an Airbnb in Raglan and have community involvement as an information centre volunteer, a member of the Raglan Club and its adjuncts. I would like to help our community to become a more wonderful place for future generations.
My priorities
- Work towards improving environmental sustainability.
- Explore the concept of rates capping as rates costs are undoubtedly a major concern for residents.
- Improve transport systems with better access to bus, taxi, Uber and cycleways.
