Why I'm standing

I believe our council has stopped listening to common sense voices in the community. I am standing in support of those voices as well as the financial mishandling of a number of projects due to lack of prior public consultation, due diligence and forethought. I believe council needs to focus on delivering core services, not growth and development. I believe growth will happen naturally when streets and services are properly maintained and costs associated with council are kept to a minimum.

About me

I have a long history working in a digital service profession, keeping costs low by utilising existing systems and hardware rather than blindly investing in the new. I believe if a system is not broken, there is very often no need to fix it. Some of my loyal customers have doubled and tripled their growth by not wasting their resources on technology they could make do without. I believe this formula can be applied both metaphorically and literally to council.

My priorities
  1. Listen to residents and ratepayers and welcome public involvement and offers of community service.
  2. Eliminate vanity projects as egos are sucking the life out of council and refocus on core services.
  3. Reduce rates and focus on roads, waste disposal, waters and maintenance with the rest if money is available.
