Tokoroa Ward
The South Waikato District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of ten councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). six councillors will be elected from the Tokoroa ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Ensure Pokaiwhenua Catchment Group is sufficiently supported to continue their landowner riparian work.

    Ensure the continued protection and resilience of Te Waihou / Blue Springs in collaboration with mana whenua.

  • Avoid combined council-controlled organisations, especially regarding waters, water assets or any of the core services and assets.

    Provide accessible and local waste disposal across the district, encouraging recycling and reuse within the district wherever possible.

    Retain water services and assets under local council control and management.
