Taranaki Regional Council
The Taranaki Regional Council makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of 11 councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). five councillors will be elected from the New Plymouth constituency. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I believe that the natural environment is Taranaki's most vital resource and believe that preserving this resource is the only way future generations will be able to enjoy it as much as we do today.

My priorities
- Strengthen water quality monitoring and regulations.
- Expand existing biodiversity efforts through riparian planting and predator control initiatives.
- Market the region more aggressively as an international tourist destination.
