Why I'm standing

I am running because Taranaki faces big challenges and opportunities that demand experienced, steady leadership. After 15 years on the Regional Council, I know how important it is that we make practical, fair, and future-focused decisions. I want to ensure our region is resilient to change, confident in its direction, and united in working together. My motivation is simple: to serve the people of Taranaki and help protect what makes our home unique.

About me

I will make a good elected representative because I bring proven experience, strong community connections, and a collaborative approach. I have served on the Regional Council as regional transport chair, policy and planning chair, and now the council as chair. I've also had many leadership roles across sport and local business. I believe in open, transparent decision-making and my focus is on listening carefully, building trust, and providing steady leadership through challenging times.

My priorities
  1. Protect rivers, coasts and biodiversity to safeguard natural resources for future generations.
  2. Support farming, energy and business while ensuring strong and fair environmental standards.
  3. Guide the region toward sustainable land use in a way that works for both rural and urban sectors.
