Introduce rates-funded rubbish and recycling collection to ensure consistent, affordable service for all households.
Upgrade water and wastewater infrastructure to protect public health and future-proof essential services.
Educate the public on the construction of landfill, limited land space for new landfills and encourage waste minimisation and composting.
Ensure proper checks, tests and maintenance are done for all water supplies to reduce the number of boil water notices issued.
Investigate prepaid rubbish bags to provide easy alternatives for household rubbish collection.
Maintain the number of public rubbish bins and access more if needed to keep business districts clean.
Provide public access to fluoride-free drinking water throughout the region that is easily accessible.
Increase tree planting, rain gardens and permeable surfaces in flood-prone streets.
Partner with Horizons Regional Council to trial on-demand or shuttle services between towns and regional centres in future as the district grows.
Work with Crown Infrastructure Partners to push Tararua's underserved areas up the priority list for fibre and wireless rollout.
