Taupō General Ward
The Taupō District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 12 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). seven councillors will be elected from the Taupō ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I am committed to delivering the best outcomes for our community – to ensure the affordability, sustainability and enjoyment of our beautiful district.

About me

My extended whanau have lived in Taupō for over 6 decades. I have raised my family here and I am a business owner of 20 years. I have spent 40 years giving back to my community by volunteering and sitting on not-for-profit boards. My governance experience spans 15 years, together with corporate managerial experience and a law degree, I have the necessary skillset to carry out this role effectively. INTEGRITY - LEADERSHIP - DILIGENCE.

My priorities
  1. Address financial expenditure with prudence and ensure ratepayers benefit from decisions.
  2. Address concerns around council transparency and communication with respect to the joint management agreement.
  3. Commit to developing a solution for wastewater, waste and an alternative bridge solution.
