Why I'm standing

Having spent six years on council I can see the significant changes coming. I have spent much time ensuring I have a handle on how this will affect Taupō. With that background I want to ensure we retain local control over our future.

About me

I have a proven track record in leadership and governance, at the council table, in my career as a leader in police and in the not for profit social sector over more than 30 years. I bring all of that experience to the table.

My priorities
  1. Make affordability a critical focus by reviewing the entire council funding mechanism as rates are too high.
  2. Ensure council remains viable in the face of massive change in the operating environment.
  3. Enhance communication in an era where fact is hard to discern from falsehood especially online.
