Why I'm standing
I'm standing for election because Taupō is more than a town—it's home to my family, currently across three generations, and I'm passionate about seeing it thrive. I care about preserving what makes our community special and have the skill set to guide it forward. I believe the values I bring—practicality, fairness, and a focus on people—can help bring common sense solutions that ensure decisions made today support a strong, inclusive and sustainable future for everyone.
About me
I bring extensive experience as a business owner, with strong skills in partnerships, governance and delivering projects that matter. I've founded the Taupo Winter Festival, Pop-Up Cinema Series, chaired a local school PTA, served as a trustee of BayTrust, and established the One Taupō Trust. I listen, build connections, and take practical, decisive action. Guided by strong values, I work to ensure council decisions are thoughtful, effective and benefit community and future generations.
My priorities
- Boost local connection through more town-hall style in-person gatherings for real community dialogue.
- Ensure responsible spending by using ratepayer funds wisely, prioritising value and efficiency.
- Protect and enhance infrastructure by maintaining and improving roads, water and essential services.
