Mayor of Thames-Coromandel

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Thames-Coromandel District Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

My life and I are at peace with each other, settled and balanced, free of many restraints like business, mortgages and debt. This is my last life vocation.

About me

You won't find solutions unless you look. Have faith in yourself. My upbringing and education from an early age encouraged lateral thinking. From boarding school at the age of six to living onboard a Navy frigate with 250 other men, you simply become part of a community with complete trust in those around you. "We are a breed apart."

My priorities
  1. Convince Thames-Coromandel District Council to serve the community before complying with central Government’s overwhelming demands.
  2. Encouraging pride to be displayed by all Council staff knowing the community has their back.
  3. Stop wasting ratepayers' money; if it is off the table at home then it is off the table at Council.
