The Wainuiomata Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Lower Hutt City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
I believe in giving back more to the community. I want Wainuiomata community to feel they have a board that is engaged with the community in many different ways. I want to do it for my children who are the future of our city.
About me
I have lots of experience on committees of all different types including some national ones too. I know how to speak up and I know when I need more knowledge to make a decision. I am not afraid to make tough choices if needed.
My priorities
- Make more inclusive community for all and ensure everyone feels they belong and has a voice.
- Make the board more engaged with the community.
- Make Wainuiomata people feel that the board is something they want to come and connect with.
