Why I'm standing

I am concerned how Te Awamutu has declined to not be the vibrant community it has been within Waipa and the Waikato region.

About me

I live, have worked, brought up my family and played in Te Awamutu and surrounds for 60 years. I have been a councillor from 2004 to 2010 and achievements such as Te Awamutu library, bus routes, water and storm water for Kihikihi and subsequent property subdivision are some of the results of my leadership and governance ability. I am active in many community groups including Rotary, RSA, Foodbank and Hospice and I hear the community.

My priorities
  1. Scrutinise Waipa district council's debt level and rate structure. An unexpected event would be catastrophic for Waipa.
  2. Set priorities for affordable spending in the 2025–34 long term plan.
  3. Revitalise Te Awamutu by painting the town red, blue, yellow or other with Waipa district council, business and community.
