Wairoa General Ward
The Wairoa District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of six councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). three councillors will be elected from the Wairoa ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I believe council needs a strong business voice that represents the business community and has a solid appreciation of economic development.

About me

I have a business background, am president of the Wairoa Business Association, am on the Wairoa Club executive committee and have instigated the Keep Wairoa Beautiful campaign. I was previously manager of The Wairoa Star. I am also a member of the local District Licensing Committee and a trustee of the Urban Art Foundation charitable trust in Wellington. I will be a dedicated, diligent, hardworking and community-focused councillor.

My priorities
  1. Focus on community well-being for all, including those with disabilities.
  2. Protect and enhance a sustainable environment and natural resources.
  3. Plan and deliver actionable economic development.
