Why I'm standing
I am currently elected, to serve you, on the Waitematā Local Board. I believe in transparency, listening to community, value for money and quality governance. This term my advocacy resulted in opening board workshops to the public, previously held behind closed doors. Our C&R team will create a safe and clean city, retain weekly rubbish collections, protect our heritage and character, support local business, care for our environment and ensure common-sense transport and parking.
About me
In my first term I was rated the most effective Waitematā Local Board member by Campaigner for Good Governance Keith McConnell. I am a strong and experienced community advocate with an intergenerational sustainability lens. I have lived locally for more than 20 years. I am a respected business leader, director, celebrant and campaigner for ending homelessness. My leadership has been recognised with a Queen's honour for services to business and community.
My priorities
- Listen to community as the Waitematā Local Board does not authentically engage with the community.
- Ensure quality governance by briefing board members adequately and committing to more than box ticking.
- Stop wasteful spending by focusing on keeping rates low and applying a strategic lens across all decisions.
