Why I'm standing

I believe that as most QLDC staff and elected members are Queenstown based, there is an inevitable if unintentional focus on Queenstown issues. I believe it is vital to have a strong, focused and unified community board to be involved in decisions affecting the Upper Clutha community to ensure that our voices and priorities are understood and followed. I believe it is also important to fight to ensure that we get our fair share of resources in a timely manner and not as an afterthought.

About me

I have lived in Wanaka since 1998, have watched the town grow rapidly during that time, and have a keen interest in planning and transport issues. I have three years’ experience on the community board and 19 years’ experience as a trustee of the Upper Clutha Tracks Trust. I am a team player with a good working relationship with council staff and elected members and would welcome the opportunity to keep working for the community.

My priorities
  1. Ensure that the Upper Clutha gets its fair share of resources in a timely manner.
  2. Finish the Wanaka Lakefront redevelopment and progress the town centre masterplan work.
  3. Ensure that both the roading network and active transport network are safe and effective.
