Wellington City Council

The Wellington City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 15 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). two councillors will be elected from the Paekawakawa/Southern ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am so passionate about our city and feel sad about the state of it. People leaving, no jobs, safety issues, high rates; I want to bring the city back to the vibrant city people were proud of. I have great business experience, commonsense and a pragmatic approach. I love people and listening to what they think is important to them. I will fight for our communities if I am elected.

About me

I have great business experience and have managed staff. My parents instilled the values of respect, integrity and determination and that coupled with my negotiation skills in my current job at Harcourts will add value around the council table along with listening to the requirements and what is important to our communities.

My priorities

  1. Consult on and increase transparency to support democratic voice and work together for the best outcomes.
  2. Focus on core priorities, cut wasteful spending and pet projects, and achieve zero rates increase.
  3. Bring back events, make the city safer and more vibrant, and restore it as the arts and cultural capital it once was.
