Why I'm standing

I'm running for Wellington City Council to bring smart, fiscally responsible and community-focused leadership. With over 20 years as a chartered accountant in infrastructure projects, I know how to make decisions that deliver real value. I want to tackle rising unaffordability, restore transparency and accountability, and provide practical solutions that reflect the needs of Wellington residents. Running independently lets me connect directly with the community and offer common-sense, effective leadership.

About me

I was born and bred in Wellington's northern suburbs, giving me a deep understanding of our community and its needs. I bring strong experience in the areas our city faces challenges – particularly finance and infrastructure – where careful planning and oversight are essential. I approach every issue with a focus on pragmatic, common-sense solutions that balance efficiency, affordability and long-term benefits. My goal is to ensure residents have practical, responsible representation that delivers real results for our city.

My priorities
  1. Pause major capital projects until better governance ensures transparency, accountability and value.
  2. Commit to auditing council books to uncover efficiencies, reduce waste and deliver better value.
  3. Explore how the commercial differential can be reduced to attract investment and support business.
