Why I'm standing

I am standing again because ratepayers require a voice that is entry level, and I have advocated for this community for the past six years. As former Mayoress for nine years and WOCB Deputy Chair this term, I already have established relationships in WDC. I understand local government structures and its people. When Tony retired as Mayor, I wasn't finished, as the voices of our community still had wants and needs not met.

About me

As an active and passionate member of our community I've worked tirelessly to ensure our voices are heard, and advocating for local issues that matter. As a secondary school teacher, I encourage youth voice, I am involved in BBBSNZ, education policy, and I volunteer at many events. I will maintain the support for individuals and organisations who do great things and need support to allow them to reach their goals.

My priorities
  1. Improve and upgrade assets such as playgrounds, solve accessibility issues and seek external funding.
  2. Support projects including dog poo dispensers, Whakaari memorial, youth events and Arts Whakatāne including public art.
  3. Provide things ratepayers will enjoy for years to come and be proud of as years unfold.
