Why I'm standing

I believe the community board delivers an essential grass-roots support service to the people of Whakatāne and Ōhope and I would like to be a part of it. I know of the excellent work the outgoing community board has done to support a wide range of clubs, organisations and individuals in their activities and I have the skills and networks to be part of a team that continues to provide this service.

About me

I have been part of school communities in Whakatāne, Murupara and Kawerau, I am a successful businesswoman and a long-time community volunteer. I think I have the passion, skills and experience to appreciate and support the diverse needs within our community. I would like to be part of a team developing a new strategic plan focusing on youth, connection with community and council, the environment, local business and recreation.

My priorities
  1. Work towards re-establishing a comprehensive health service at Whakatāne Hospital.
  2. Establish a working group to implement the Arts, Culture and Creativity strategic plan.
  3. Establish a working group to implement the equity, diversity and inclusion (DEI) policy.
