Utilities and services
Councils are responsible for a wide range of utilities and services that we all rely on, from rubbish and recycling to street cleaning. Councils are currently also responsible for managing waste water, storm water and drinking water infrastructure – the ‘Three Waters’. But that may be about to change, with central government seeking to shift the delivery of Three Waters services to four new larger entities, which could borrow enough to upgrade the country’s water infrastructure.

Promote the sensible revitalisation of Southmall and Clendon Park Shopping Centres.
Targeted rates-funded initiatives based on community needs.
Support Three Waters reform to ensure uniformly high standards of water and wastewater but oppose the proposed governance model for Auckland.
Advocate for increased resource into animal control, by-law and consenting compliance across all of council's responsibilities to ratepayers.
Review the role of council and ensure all workstreams are aligned to delivering services to ratepayers and not superfluous to core business.
