Why I'm standing

I am concerned about the impact of high rates on our ratepayers, especially our elderly, and the repeated budget blowouts on Council projects which are increasing the burden on ratepayers even further.

About me

I have a good deal of experience working with the general public at the checkouts, and through it, I have developed a great deal of understanding into what makes good customer service and the benefits of it – as well as the impact of not having it.

My priorities
  1. Ensure that the council lives within its means in order to reduce rate rises.
  2. Improve customer service from council staff and communication with public, valuing frontline staff.
  3. Mitigate the effects of climate change – replace the council vehicles with plug-in hybrid electric vehicles etc.
