Vincent Ward
The Central Otago District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 11 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Five councillors will be elected from the Vincent ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I am a current councillor who brings insight across government reforms, superior communication, mediation and negotiation skills, and an energy and enthusiasm to help shape our region for future generations.

My priorities
  1. Spend sensibly while maintaining momentum on the big projects we have underway.
  2. Build our resilience to climate change, both for disaster recovery and also economic resilience.
  3. Be prepared to seize opportunities that improve quality of life for our residents.
