Banks Peninsula Ward
The Christchurch City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 16 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). One councillor will be elected from the Banks Peninsula ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Work with local business/transport providers and tourism to reduce impact on infrastructure for visitor influx.

    Set up youth employment database to target council goals to replant trees, weed eradication, pest control and event management.

    Fast track immediate infrastructure upgrades in support of critical needs.

  • Destination management plan completion. We need this for the peninsula to make sure we are supporting all business especially with visitors.

    Vital infrastructure is maintained, supported and advocated for.

    Support all business by making sure red tape is not holding anyone back.
