Far North District Council

Bay of Islands-Whangaroa General Ward
The Far North District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. Why I'm standing

I have worked passionately for this district/ward for two decades delivering great outcomes. Roundabouts, new seal, sports parks, libraries, maritime access, new bridges, new footpaths, walking and cycling tracks. You name it I've probably done it. That institutional knowledge is an incredibly valuable resource that we need to harness. I know how to get stuff done and if I don't, I know who might. Use me that's what I'm here for.

About me

Radio operator by trade. I have a long history of governance. Twenty years on Top Energy Trust, two decades in local government. Government working parties, business association and I am a past director of Consumer New Zealand. Ex volunteer driver for Saint Johns, ex kids football coach (not a great one but I volunteered because no one else would). I have put community at the heart of everything I have done in my career.

My priorities
  1. Transport in all its forms.
  2. Spatial planning.
  3. Getting stuff done.
Current role
