Why I'm standing

I am concerned at the loss of autonomy and cost escalation of central government regulation upon local economies. Funding of essential services comes first, particularly water and roads. I am very concerned at the destructive effects of unsound policy concerning climate change and health and the censorship of critical debate on these issues. I wish to bring fresh solutions to old problems and promote industrial hemp for home construction and biodegradable plastics industries.

About me

From a farming background, with a BSc degree in chemistry and a 40 year career as a drilling fluids engineer in the international oil and gas industry, I am a seasoned problem solver. One problem I solved saved a $100m dangerous underground gas blowout well in Australia. I look for the simplest solution to complex problems. I am a lifelong follower of natural health principles and am well versed in the science.

My priorities
  1. Keep local land and water assets in local hands.
  2. Adopt scientifically sound and best practice water treatment and climate change policies.
  3. Promote new industries for the Far North District Council region including industrial hemp.
