Kāpiti Coast Constituency
The Greater Wellington Regional Council makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of 13 councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). One councillor will be elected from the Kāpiti Coast constituency. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper.     Support the community driven Wainuiwhenua project, to develop a mountains to sea ecological corridor.

    Deliver the planned dune and peatland restoration of 128.5ha in Queen Elizabeth Park.

  • Invest in the rewetting and replanting of Queen Elizabeth Park, to improve biodiversity, and reduce fire risk, while supporting recreation.

    Help our wonderful volunteer community conservation groups to thrive through council support and enabling them to get on and do their mahi.

    Support Mana Whenua and the Paekākāriki community's Wainuiwhenua proposal to create a multi-generational environmental project.
