Why I'm standing

Local government in general needs more diversity, with councillors who represent a fair spread of the community. I do not have any particular issues or concerns that motivate me to stand. I want to serve the community I love and represent young professionals and families. I believe I'd represent fairly and logically at the council table.

About me

I know the local government environment well after working in it for over a decade, the majority spent in strategic planning and policy. I was born in Waihi and have lived locally most of my life. I'm a self-employed parent, editor of the Waikino Whisper, a trustee of the Hauraki Reuse Centre Trust, member of Keep Waihi Beautiful, and I'm currently seeking re-election to the Waikino School Board.

My priorities
  1. Educate and support to reduce rubbish going to landfill, eliminate all organic waste from landfill.
  2. Support community-led initiatives enhancing cultural, environmental, social and economic wellbeing.
  3. Smooth and widen footpaths as shared paths/cycleways to encourage walking and cycling.
