Why I'm standing
I am disabled and old before my time and associate with a lot of elderly and disabled and our town is not that well set up for a large portion of our population but could be reasonably easily. I would like to give a greater voice to these people.
About me
I am medically retired, so have the time to devote to this role. I have a very good grounding from governmental work through to working for one of New Zealand's largest companies. Involvement in a lot of organisations, from school boards to social activism. White Ribbon Riders against Domestic Violence and Green Ribbon around Suicide Awareness. I want to be involved in Building a fence at top of cliff rather than ambulance at bottom.
My priorities
- Disabled and elderly access to parks an general infrastructure to support their wellbeing.
- Investigate what can be supported for our youth. Investment here can be paid back threefold.
- Fiscal responsibilities, rate payers don't have endless resources to be paying continuous increases.
