Why I'm standing

I love my community of Māngere-Ōtāhuhu (MO) and am offering to serve again because, I believe, it will be vital to have experienced voices in council this coming term, fighting for our area in tough times and for our fair share of resources under the current budgets. I am seeking re-election so there would be continuity after the disruptions of Covid-19.

About me

My upbringing stressed service and social justice so I undertook volunteer work for many years and was led eventually into politics. My BA/LLB and experience in research and communications support me as an effective board member. My understanding of council and knowledge of Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board's aspirations and planning could help us navigate the current situation and ensure plans, projects and investments put on hold do not get lost and continue for the benefit of the community.

My priorities
  1. Ensure our local businesses and communities emerge well from Covid-19.
  2. Urgently increase MO's climate response by confirming and implementing our MO Climate Action Plan.
  3. Increase belonging, connection & incomes by supporting local arts, artists, culture and makers.
