Why I'm standing

After campaigning long and hard during the recent representation review to get the Kaitake boundaries changed so as to rectify long-standing underrepresentation for this area of the district, I am putting my money where my mouth is by standing for the new Kaitake-Ngāmotu Ward. As a community board chair, my voice and influence were negligible at best, so by standing, I will have a greater opportunity to support and serve my community.

About me

Councillors need to possess analytical, strategic and logical thinking abilities, have the communication skills to readily relate to people at any, and every level, be mission and outcome-focused and be prepared to put aside their personal agendas, desires, and bias in the interests of the greater and the long term good. I consider I possess all these attributes, and more as well!

My priorities
  1. Addressing the Ōākura and Ōkato water supply issues.
  2. Reviewing the effectiveness and efficiency of all council spending.
  3. Ensuring diligent and scrupulous scrutiny of every council officer recommendation by elected members.
