Otago Peninsula Community Board

The Otago Peninsula Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Dunedin City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. From parks and libraries to museums and art galleries, councils can be a key supporter of sporting, recreational and cultural events that bring communities to life. Community facilities, including sports grounds and town halls, are often owned and run by councils.

  • Engage with local youth to develop a plan for our young adults and children to see their needs in terms of entertainment and activities.

    Support the development of the Pump Track.

    Create a dog park for dogs to be able to run freely in safety, with agility courses and places to safely train.

  • Provide more funding to the Otago Museum.

    Upgrade community pools.

    Bring back a established music and performing arts venue to Dunedin City.

  • Secure ongoing funding for community/school pools for repairs and maintenance.

    Develop community "open days" with each peninsula village as part of post pandemic resilience building. Reconnecting communities.
