Arrowtown-Kawarau Ward
The Queenstown-Lakes District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 11 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Three councillors will be elected from the Arrowtown-Kawarau ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I am running for this election because I love living in Queenstown and I want to be part of a team that ensures sustainable and thoughtful growth in the district. I want to promote thoughtful decision making, I want to ensure that decisions made by the council on the future of this region are realistic and not just idealistic. I want to provide a voice for those who in the past have been under represented.
